Sensitivity

Adjust the sensor's detection range from 2m to 16m by turning the reach knob. Turn it fully left for minimum range and fully right for maximum. Set based on location needs.

Time Setting

Choose how long the light stays ON (10 seconds to 12 minutes). Movement restarts the timer. Use the shortest time during setup and walk test for accurate adjustment.

Light Control (LUX) Setting

Set light sensitivity from 2 to 2000 lux. Fully left = night-only mode (2 lux), fully right = day mode. Turn fully right during testing in daylight, then adjust per requirement.

Test Instructions

  1. Slide the LUX knob to position (-) and switch on the power.
  2. When you test in daytime. You should cover a black opaque cloth on the product.
  3. When the cloth mantles the detection window of the photocell, the ambient light of the photocell is less than 5 LUX, the lamp will be on.
  4. When you take off this cloth, the lamp will be off automatically.
  5. When you slide the LUX knob to position (+), the lamp could be on in the ambient light less than 50LUX

READY TO TRANSFORM YOUR LIGHTING?

Automatic Dusk-to-Dawn Control with PC 302

PC 302 is a compact light-control sensor (photocell) that automatically turns lights ON at dusk and OFF at dawn based on ambient light level. Operating on 220–240V AC with a 10A rated load, it provides reliable, maintenance-free control for outdoor and common-area lighting, helping you save energy without manual switching.

How It Works

Discover the simple yet effective way NANO 16 transforms your space

1

Microwave Emission

Emits 5.8GHz microwaves with <0.2mW power, ensuring precise detection.

2

Motion Detection

Detects movement (0.6–1.5m/s) within 360° range, adjustable 2–16m.

3

Smart Response

Activates lights (≤800W incandescent / 300W LED) with 10s–12min delay.

A microwave motion sensor works by emitting high-frequency waves and detecting changes in the reflected signal. When motion occurs within the microwave sensor range, the reflection shifts, triggering a response. Unlike passive sensors, microwave sensors actively scan their surroundings, making them ideal for detecting subtle movement, even through walls or glass.

Applications

Discover how PC 302 automatically manages day/night lighting for outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces using ambient light sensing.

corridor

Street & Road Lighting

Use PC 302 to control street and road lights so they switch ON automatically at dusk and OFF at dawn. This removes dependence on manual timers and ensures consistent operation in changing seasons and weather.

Garden & Landscape Lighting

Ideal for villas, gardens and landscape projects. PC 302 turns decorative and pathway lighting ON only when it gets dark and switches it OFF in the morning, enhancing ambience while limiting energy use.

Housing Societies, Campuses & Pathways

Perfect for society compounds, internal roads, campus pathways and common areas. The sensor ensures lights operate only during low-light hours, providing safety and guidance at night without round-the-clock burning.

Building Facades & Signage

Use PC 302 for façade washers, signage, hoardings and outdoor display lights. It keeps your branding visible after dark and switches lights OFF when the ambient light level rises again.

Parking Areas

Reliable emergency lighting for underground and multi-level parking facilities, ensuring safety in low-light conditions.

Smart Functionality

Experience true day/night automation with PC 302’s adjustable lux setting and dependable photocell design.

Adjustable Lux Threshold

PC 302 uses an inbuilt light sensor to decide when to switch lights ON or OFF. With an adjustable range of approximately 5–50 lux, you can set the exact ambient brightness at which the lights should turn ON in the evening and turn OFF in the morning. Turning the LUX knob towards “–” makes the sensor respond only in deeper darkness; turning it towards “+” lets it switch ON earlier at higher ambient light levels.

LUX set to “–” (darker trigger)

The sensor switches lights ON only when the environment becomes very dark (around 5 lux), maximising energy savings.

LUX set mid-range

Lights switch ON at a balanced level of evening light—comfortable for most streets, gardens and common areas.

LUX set to “+” (earlier trigger)

Lights turn ON sooner as daylight fades (up to around 50 lux), ideal for high-safety zones such as key roads or busy entrances.

Day/Night Light Function

PC 302 is a pure light-dependent switch: it does not rely on motion, timers or schedules. It continuously monitors natural light and controls the load so that it works only at night or during low-light conditions. Ambient temperature and humidity do not affect its performance, making it a robust solution for outdoor applications.

Daytime – Bright conditions

When the ambient light is above the set lux threshold, PC 302 keeps the connected light OFF, even if the mains supply is ON.

Evening / Low light

As ambient light falls below the selected lux level, PC 302 automatically switches the light ON to maintain visibility and safety.

Morning – Light returns

When daylight increases again above the threshold, the sensor switches the light OFF automatically, ready for the next night cycle.

🌓

Simple, Reliable Photocell

PC 302 uses a dedicated photocell to control lighting purely on ambient light level, providing stable, repeatable operation night after night.

🎚️

Adjustable for Your Site

The adjustable lux knob lets you calibrate the exact turn-ON and turn-OFF levels according to the project—whether you need earlier lighting for busy roads or later lighting for energy-sensitive areas.

⏱️

Temperature & Humidity Resistant

Designed to operate across a wide temperature range (approx. –20°C to +40°C) and high humidity, PC 302 continues working reliably in typical outdoor conditions.

Easy to Install & Retrofit

With standard 220–240V AC, 50/60 Hz operation and 10A rated current, PC 302 can be wired into existing lighting circuits and mounted at suitable outdoor locations using its metal bracket

Frequently Asked Questions

Use your regular FAQ layout and paste in this PC 302–specific content.

What is PC 302?

PC 302 is a light control sensor (photocell) that automatically turns lights ON or OFF based on ambient light levels. It is designed to control outdoor or common-area lighting so that it operates mainly at night, reducing manual effort and energy waste.

How does PC 302 work?

PC 302 continuously measures the surrounding light. When the ambient level falls below the lux value set on its knob (approximately 5–50 lux), it switches the connected load ON. When the ambient light rises above that threshold, it switches the load OFF. There is no motion sensing or timer—only day/night light control.

What is the operating voltage and load rating?

PC 302 operates on 220–240V AC, 50/60 Hz, with a rated current of 10 A. Ensure the connected lighting load (and any contactors, if used) are within this rating and wired according to the connection diagram in the technical data sheet.

Where can PC 302 be used?

PC 302 is suitable for road and street lights, garden and landscape lights, housing society and campus pathways, building façades, signage and similar applications where automatic dusk-to-dawn control is required.

How do I set the lux level on PC 302?

Use the LUX knob provided on the device. Turning it anti-clockwise towards “–” sets the sensor to operate only when light is very low (around 5 lux). Turning it clockwise towards “+” makes the sensor operate at higher ambient light levels (up to about 50 lux). For testing in daytime, the knob should be moved towards the “SUN / +” position and the sensor eye temporarily shaded.

Are there any installation precautions?

Yes. PC 302 should be mounted where it has a clear view of natural light, without obstructions or moving objects (like tree branches) in front of the sensor window. It should not be installed directly under a luminaire or where the controlled light shines into the sensor, to avoid feedback and false triggers. Always follow the wiring and mounting instructions in the data sheet and ensure the mains supply is OFF during installation.
