Sensitivity

Reach is the term used to describe the radius of the circular detection zone produced on the ground. After mounting the sensor light at a height of 2.5m, turn the reach control completely in anti-clockwisedirection to select minimum reach (approx.2 m radius), and turn the reach control completely in a clockwise direction to select the maximum reach (approx. 8m radius). 2-8m radii

Time Setting

The light can be set to stay ON for any period of time between approx. 8sec (turn fully anti-clockwise) and a maximum of 12min (turn fully clockwise). Any movement detected before this time elapse will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.

Light Control (LUX) Setting

The chosen light response threshold can be infinitely from approx. 2-2000lux. Turn it fully anti-clockwise to select dusk- to-dawn operation at about 2 Lux. Turn it fully clockwise to select daylight operation at about 2000lux. The knob must be turned fully clockwise when adjusting the detection zone and performing the walk test in daylight.

Test Instructions

  1. Turn the LUX knob & SENS knob clockwise on the maximum.
  2. Turn the TIME knob anti-clockwise on the minimum (10s).
  3. When powered on, the light turns on immediately, then switches off after about 10 seconds. After that, the sensor operates normally upon detecting motion.
  4. If additional motion is detected during the initial activation, the timer resets and restarts from that moment.
  5. Turn the LUX knob to the minimum (3) for night-only operation. The sensor will activate the light only when ambient light is below 3 LUX.

How It Works

Discover the simple yet effective way NANO 16 transforms your space

1

Microwave Emission

Emits 5.8GHz microwaves with <0.2mW power, ensuring precise detection.

2

Motion Detection

Detects movement (0.6–1.5m/s) within 360° range, adjustable 2–16m.

3

Smart Response

Activates lights (≤800W incandescent / 300W LED) with 10s–12min delay.

A microwave motion sensor works by emitting high-frequency waves and detecting changes in the reflected signal. When motion occurs within the microwave sensor range, the reflection shifts, triggering a response. Unlike passive sensors, microwave sensors actively scan their surroundings, making them ideal for detecting subtle movement, even through walls or glass.

Applications

Discover how the Nano DC NONC Dry-Contact Motion Sensor integrates with lighting and control systems to automate common circulation areas with precise detection and efficient operation.

corridor

Corridors

Use Nano DC NONC as a dry-contact trigger for corridor lights controlled by drivers, relays or a central panel. It detects people entering the passage and sends an ON signal while motion is present, helping keep corridors bright only when needed and cutting unnecessary burning hours

Staircases

Staircases

Connect Nano DC NONC to your control system to eliminate dark stairwells without keeping fixtures ON 24/7. The sensor provides a contact signal as soon as motion is detected on the stairs and releases it after the configured hold time, allowing your controller to switch lights OFF automatically.

Basement Parking

Basement Parking

Ideal for low-voltage control in basements and covered parking zones. Nano DC NONC detects vehicles and pedestrians and feeds a dry-contact input to the lighting or BMS system, which then activates luminaires during activity and deactivates them once movement stops.

Underpasses & Walkways

Increase comfort and visibility in underpasses, ramps and enclosed walkways while keeping wiring flexible. The sensor’s microwave technology and adjustable range provide reliable detection, while the dry-contact output lets you interface with almost any DC automation or control device.

More Applications

Slide
Parking Areas

Reliable emergency lighting for underground and multi-level parking facilities, ensuring safety in low-light conditions.

Smart Functionality

Experience intuitive detection and flexible integration with Nano DC NONC’s adjustable range, timing and daylight-based modes.

Daylight Function

In Daylight mode, Nano DC NONC only sends a contact signal to the controlled system when two conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light level is below the set lux threshold. This avoids triggering lights in spaces that already receive sufficient natural light, such as corridors with windows or stairwells with skylights.

Sufficient daylight

When there is enough natural light, the sensor does not activate the contact output, even if motion is detected, preventing lights from turning ON unnecessarily.

Low daylight with motion

When the ambient light falls below the set level and movement is detected, Nano DC NONC closes the contact, allowing the connected driver, relay or controller to switch the light ON automatically.

After people leave

Once motion stops, the contact remains active for the selected hold time (from about 8 seconds up to 12 minutes) and then opens again, so the control system can turn the light OFF.

No Daylight Function

In No Daylight mode, Nano DC NONC ignores the ambient light level and responds purely to motion. This is ideal for dim or fully enclosed areas such as basement parking, internal passages and underpasses, where the control system must always receive a trigger whenever movement is detected, regardless of existing light.

Motion detected

As soon as a person or vehicle enters the detection zone, the sensor changes its dry-contact state, signalling the connected device to switch the load ON to full brightness.

Area still occupied

As long as motion continues within the coverage area, Nano DC NONC keeps the contact active, ensuring the controlled load stays ON and the space remains safe and comfortable.

No motion detected

After the last detection and once the configured hold time has expired, the sensor resets the contact, allowing the system to switch the load OFF and save energy.

🌓

Knows Sun from Moon

With a built-in daylight function (2–2000 lux), Nano DC NONC can distinguish between bright daytime conditions and low-light environments. You can let it trigger your control system only when artificial lighting is truly required.

🎚️

Dial-in Distance

The adjustable reach setting lets you define a detection radius between roughly 2 and 8 metres. This allows Nano DC NONC to focus on the desired zone and avoid false triggers from adjacent areas or passing traffic.

⏱️

Stays On When Busy

The internal timer resets with every new movement. While people or vehicles are present, the contact remains active, so the connected system keeps the load ON without flicker or interruption.

You Set the Timeout

Choose how long the contact stays active after the last motion, from about 8 seconds up to 12 minutes. This lets you tailor the behaviour to each project—from quick shut-off in short passages to longer delays in high-traffic or safety-critical areas

Frequently Asked Questions

Use the same FAQ structure; just update to Nano DC NONC and plug in these answers.

What is Nano DC NONC?

Nano DC NONC is a ceiling-mounted microwave motion sensor with a dry-contact output, designed for 12–24 V DC systems. It emits 5.8 GHz high-frequency waves, senses movement in its 360° detection zone and provides a NO/NC contact signal that can be used to trigger lighting, exhaust fans or other devices via external drivers, relays or controllers.

What is the detection range of Nano DC NONC?

Nano DC NONC offers an adjustable detection radius from approximately 2 m up to 8 m when mounted on the ceiling, forming a circular 360° coverage area on the floor. Actual range depends on mounting height, target size and movement speed; for best results, follow the calibration guidelines from the datasheet and perform an on-site walk test.

Is Nano DC NONC compatible with all types of lights?

Because Nano DC NONC provides a dry-contact output rather than directly switching mains power, it can be integrated with a wide variety of loads via suitable drivers, relays, control modules or BMS inputs—within the sensor’s maximum contact rating of 5 A. Always check the control gear specifications and wiring diagram before connection.

Can Nano DC NONC be installed on walls and ceilings?

Nano DC NONC is primarily intended for indoor ceiling mounting to provide a symmetrical 360° detection pattern. It may also be built into suitable housings or enclosures where IP protection and coverage are maintained. Correct mounting height and location are essential to ensure reliable detection of movement toward the sensor.

Does Nano DC NONC have adjustable settings?

Yes. Nano DC NONC provides several adjustable parameters: reach (sensitivity) from about 2–8 m, hold time from roughly 8 seconds to 12 minutes, and a daylight threshold between approximately 2 and 2000 lux. These are set via onboard controls so you can fine-tune the sensor’s behaviour for each application.

How does the NO/NC contact work on Nano DC NONC?

Nano DC NONC offers both N.O. (normally open) and N.C. (normally closed) terminals with a common (COM). When your load or control input is connected to N.O. + COM, it remains OFF until motion is detected and switches ON during the active period. When connected to N.C. + COM, the opposite behaviour is achieved—the circuit is closed when there is no motion and opens when movement is detected. This gives flexibility for different system designs and safety requirements

Where can Nano DC NONC be used?

Nano DC NONC is suitable for indoor applications such as corridors, staircases, lobbies, basement approaches, parking entries, service areas and similar spaces where a DC-based control system needs a reliable motion-detection input through a dry contact. Its IP65-rated design and microwave sensing make it robust and sensitive even through some non-metallic enclosures.
