In Daylight mode, IRIS F8 only turns lights ON when both conditions are met: the sensor detects motion and the ambient light level is below the selected lux threshold. This prevents lights from switching on in naturally bright spaces such as window-side offices, bright corridors or washrooms that receive daylight
When there is enough natural light, the sensor keeps the light OFF even if motion is detected, avoiding unnecessary energy use.
When the room becomes dim and IRIS F8 detects movement, it switches the connected lights ON automatically for comfortable visibility.
Once motion stops, the light stays ON for the chosen hold time and then turns OFF automatically, ready for the next occupancy event.
In No Daylight mode, IRIS F8 ignores ambient light and works purely on presence detection. This mode is ideal for enclosed or consistently dim zones such as internal washrooms, passages and cabins where lights should always come on whenever movement is detected.
As soon as a person enters the 360° detection area, the PIR sensor responds to body heat and switches the lights ON to full brightness.
