Sensitivity

Reach is the term used to describe the diameter of the more or less circular detection zone produced on the ground after mounting the sensor at a height of 2.5 to 6m. Turn the reach control fully anti-clockwise to select minimum reach(approx. 2m dia), and fully clockwise to select maximum reach(approx. 1óm dia). Adjust according to locations and site requirements.

Time Setting

The light can be set to stay ON for any period of time between approx. IOsec(turn fully anticlockwise) and a maximum of 12min(turn fully clockwise). Any movement detected before this time elapse will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.

Light Control (LUX) Setting

The chosen light response threshold can be adjusted from approx. 2-2000 Lux. Turn it fully anti-clockwise to select dusk-to-dawn operation at about 2 Lux. Turn it fully clockwise to select continuous daylight operation. The knob must be turned fully clockwise when adjusting the detection zone and performing the walk test in daylight, then adjust setting according to site requirement.

Test Instructions

  1. Turn the LUX knob & SENS knob clockwise on the maximum.
  2. Turn the TIME knob anti-clockwise on the minimum (10s).
  3. When powered on, the light turns on immediately, then switches off after about 10 seconds. After that, the sensor operates normally upon detecting motion.
  4. If additional motion is detected during the initial activation, the timer resets and restarts from that moment.
  5. Turn the LUX knob to the minimum (3) for night-only operation. The sensor will activate the light only when ambient light is below 3 LUX.

How It Works

Discover the simple yet effective way NANO 16 transforms your space

1

Microwave Emission

Emits 5.8GHz microwaves with <0.2mW power, ensuring precise detection.

2

Motion Detection

Detects movement (0.6–1.5m/s) within 360° range, adjustable 2–16m.

3

Smart Response

Activates lights (≤800W incandescent / 300W LED) with 10s–12min delay.

A microwave motion sensor works by emitting high-frequency waves and detecting changes in the reflected signal. When motion occurs within the microwave sensor range, the reflection shifts, triggering a response. Unlike passive sensors, microwave sensors actively scan their surroundings, making them ideal for detecting subtle movement, even through walls or glass.

Applications

Discover how the NANO HB20 Microwave Motion Sensor transforms lighting control across diverse environments with superior detection and energy efficiency

Warehouses & Godowns

Maintain bright, safe aisles only while people or forklifts are present. Nano HB20 detects movement under high-mounted fixtures, keeps lights at full output during activity and drops them to dim or OFF when the area is empty, reducing run-time across large storage zones.

Factory Floors & Industrial Sheds

Designed for high mounting heights, Nano HB20 provides wide 360° coverage over production lines and open factory floors. It reacts quickly to worker and vehicle movement, helping maintain safe visibility while limiting unnecessary burning hours during breaks or idle periods.

Outdoor Parking Lots & Yards

Perfect for open parking areas, loading yards and site perimeters where lights must withstand rain and dust. The sensor brings luminaires up to 100% when vehicles or people arrive, then moves them to dimmed stand-by or OFF once motion stops, saving energy in low-traffic hours

Loading Bays & Building Exteriors

Boost safety and comfort around loading docks, entrances and building facades. Nano HB20’s microwave sensing works reliably even in harsh weather, ensuring lights respond whenever trucks, staff or visitors approach high-bay doors and exterior work zones.

More Applications

Parking Areas

Reliable emergency lighting for underground and multi-level parking facilities, ensuring safety in low-light conditions.

Smart Functionality

Experience precise, energy-saving control with Nano HB20’s daylight sensing, 3-level dimming and advanced timing options

Daylight Function

In Daylight mode, Nano HB20 only brings lights to full or dimmed output when two conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light level is below the set lux threshold. This prevents high-bay fixtures from running unnecessarily during bright daytime conditions in open warehouses, canopies or yards.

Sufficient daylight

When natural light is above the selected lux level, the sensor keeps the lights OFF or in stand-by dim mode even if motion is detected, reducing daytime consumption.

Low daylight with motion

When the ambient light drops below the set threshold and Nano HB20 detects movement, the connected lights switch to 100% brightness automatically for safe operation.

After people leave

Once motion stops, the lights remain ON for the selected hold time and then step down to dimmed stand-by or turn OFF completely, depending on your configuration

No Daylight Function

In No Daylight mode, Nano HB20 ignores ambient lux and responds purely to motion. This is ideal for enclosed or always-dim areas such as covered loading bays, indoor factories, and night-time yards where lights must switch on whenever movement occurs, regardless of existing light levels

Motion detected

As soon as a person, forklift or vehicle enters the detection zone, the sensor drives the lights to full output for maximum visibility.

Area still occupied

While motion continues within the coverage area, the lights stay ON or at your chosen bright level, ensuring a safe environment for ongoing work.

No motion detected

After the last detection and once the configured hold time and stand-by period expire, the lights return to dimmed stand-by or turn OFF, cutting energy use during idle times.

🌓

Knows Sun from Moon

Automatically adjusts between day and night modes based on ambient light levels, ensuring optimal performance in any lighting condition.

🎚️

Dial-in Distance

Fine-tune sensitivity from 2m to 16m to perfectly match your space requirements and prevent false triggers.

⏱️

Stays On When Busy

Smart motion detection resets the timer with new movement, ensuring lights stay on while the area is in use.

You Set the Timeout

Customize the delay from 10 seconds to 12 minutes after the last detected motion to suit your specific needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Nano HB20

What is Nano HB20?

Nano HB20 is a high-bay microwave motion sensor designed for automatic control of industrial and outdoor lighting. It uses 5.8 GHz radar technology to detect movement with 360° coverage and switches lights between full, dimmed and OFF states based on occupancy and configured timings.

What is the detection range of Nano HB20?

Nano HB20 provides an adjustable detection area, typically up to about 4–10 metres radius depending on mounting height and sensitivity settings, with installation heights up to around 15 metres. Actual performance will vary by site conditions, so always refer to the Nano HB20 technical data sheet and perform a walk test on site.

Is Nano HB20 compatible with all types of lights?

Nano HB20 can be used with most high-bay and outdoor luminaires within its rated load, when wired as per the connection diagram—such as LED high-bay fixtures, floodlights and other compatible loads. Always verify load ratings and compatibility with the luminaire supplier or your electrician before installation.

Can Nano HB20 be installed on walls and ceilings?

Nano HB20 is primarily designed for ceiling or high-bay mounting on poles, brackets or luminaires, where it can look down over the target area. In some projects it may also be installed on suitable walls or structures, provided the detection pattern and IP65 sealing are maintained according to the installation guide.

Does Nano HB20 have adjustable settings?

Yes. Nano HB20 offers multiple adjustable parameters including detection area (sensitivity), motion hold time, stand-by period, stand-by dim level and daylight (lux) threshold. These allow you to fine-tune how the sensor behaves for each high-bay or outdoor zone.

Where can Nano HB20 be used?

Nano HB20 is ideal for high-mount applications such as warehouses, industrial sheds, logistics hubs, outdoor parking lots, loading bays, canopies and other large spaces that need reliable, energy-efficient lighting control in tough environments
