Sensitivity

Reach is the term used to describe the diameter of the more or less circular detection zone produced on the ground after mounting the sensor at a height of 2.5 to 6m. Turn the reach control fully anti-clockwise to select minimum reach(approx. 2m dia), and fully clockwise to select maximum reach(approx. 1óm dia). Adjust according to locations and site requirements.

Time Setting

The light can be set to stay ON for any period of time between approx. IOsec(turn fully anticlockwise) and a maximum of 12min(turn fully clockwise). Any movement detected before this time elapse will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.

Light Control (LUX) Setting

The chosen light response threshold can be adjusted from approx. 2-2000 Lux. Turn it fully anti-clockwise to select dusk-to-dawn operation at about 2 Lux. Turn it fully clockwise to select continuous daylight operation. The knob must be turned fully clockwise when adjusting the detection zone and performing the walk test in daylight, then adjust setting according to site requirement.

Test Instructions

1. Set LUX to SUN (max), SENS to + (max), TIME to 10s (min).

2. Power on — light illuminates immediately for ~10 seconds.

3. Within 8m: sensor detects motion. Light stays on.

4. Beyond 8m: light turns off after set delay.

5. For night-only use, turn LUX to position 3 (min).

Ready to Transform Your Space?

Take Control of Large-Space Lighting with SINO M16

SINO M16 is a wide-range 5.8 GHz microwave motion sensor engineered for large halls, warehouses, and open-plan spaces. With 360° detection, adjustable range up to 16 metres diameter, and the ability to detect motion through glass, doors, and thin walls, it turns lights ON the moment motion is detected and switches OFF after the set delay. This keeps large commercial and industrial areas safely illuminated while dramatically reducing wasted energy.

How It Works

Discover the simple yet effective way NANO 16 transforms your space

1

Microwave Emission

Emits 5.8GHz microwaves with <0.2mW power, ensuring precise detection.

2

Motion Detection

Detects movement (0.6–1.5m/s) within 360° range, adjustable 2–16m.

3

Smart Response

Activates lights (≤800W incandescent / 300W LED) with 10s–12min delay.

A microwave motion sensor works by emitting high-frequency waves and detecting changes in the reflected signal. When motion occurs within the microwave sensor range, the reflection shifts, triggering a response. Unlike passive sensors, microwave sensors actively scan their surroundings, making them ideal for detecting subtle movement, even through walls or glass.

Parking Areas

Reliable emergency lighting for underground and multi-level parking facilities, ensuring safety in low-light conditions.

Smart Functionality

Experience precise, energy-saving control with Nano HB20’s daylight sensing, 3-level dimming and advanced timing options

Daylight Function

In Daylight mode, Nano HB20 only brings lights to full or dimmed output when two conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light level is below the set lux threshold. This prevents high-bay fixtures from running unnecessarily during bright daytime conditions in open warehouses, canopies or yards.

lux setting-Motion Sensor

Sufficient daylight

When natural light is above the selected lux level, the sensor keeps the lights OFF or in stand-by dim mode even if motion is detected, reducing daytime consumption.

lux setting night-Motion Sensor

Low daylight with motion

When the ambient light drops below the set threshold and Nano HB20 detects movement, the connected lights switch to 100% brightness automatically for safe operation.

Detection-Motion Sensor

After people leave

Once motion stops, the lights remain ON for the selected hold time and then step down to dimmed stand-by or turn OFF completely, depending on your configuration

No Daylight Function

In No Daylight mode, Nano HB20 ignores ambient lux and responds purely to motion. This is ideal for enclosed or always-dim areas such as covered loading bays, indoor factories, and night-time yards where lights must switch on whenever movement occurs, regardless of existing light levels

motion detection_sensionva

Motion detected

As soon as a person, forklift or vehicle enters the detection zone, the sensor drives the lights to full output for maximum visibility.

motion detection_sensionva

Area still occupied

While motion continues within the coverage area, the lights stay ON or at your chosen bright level, ensuring a safe environment for ongoing work.

Detection-Motion Sensor

No motion detected

After the last detection and once the configured hold time and stand-by period expire, the lights return to dimmed stand-by or turn OFF, cutting energy use during idle times.

🌓

Knows Sun from Moon

Automatically adjusts between day and night modes based on ambient light levels, ensuring optimal performance in any lighting condition.

🎚️

Dial-in Distance

Fine-tune sensitivity from 2m to 16m to perfectly match your space requirements and prevent false triggers.

⏱️

Stays On When Busy

Smart motion detection resets the timer with new movement, ensuring lights stay on while the area is in use.

You Set the Timeout

Customize the delay from 10 seconds to 12 minutes after the last detected motion to suit your specific needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Nano HB20

What makes SINO M16 different from a standard motion sensor?

SINO M16 uses 5.8 GHz microwave radar, which can detect motion through glass panes, wooden doors, and thin partition walls — something standard PIR sensors can’t do. It also covers up to 16m in diameter, roughly 4× the floor area of a typical PIR sensor, making it ideal for large halls and open corridors.

Where should I install SINO M16 for best performance?

Mount it centrally on the ceiling at a height of 2–4m (3m is ideal), facing open room areas rather than walls. Avoid pointing it at mirrors or metallic surfaces, and keep it away from HVAC vents, radiators, or open windows, as draughts or foliage in these positions can trigger false detection.

Can SINO M16 detect motion in adjacent rooms or through walls?

Yes. Its 5.8 GHz signal penetrates glass, thin walls, and doors, so it may detect motion in adjacent spaces. If this causes unwanted triggering, adjusting the sensitivity (SENS) knob or repositioning the sensor can help match detection to your actual room area.

How do I adjust the detection range and light-off delay?

The SENS knob adjusts detection sensitivity from 4m to 16m diameter — turn toward Low for smaller areas or High for larger spaces. The TIME knob sets the light-off delay after last motion, from 10 seconds up to 12 minutes, automatically resetting whenever new motion is detected.

What's the maximum load SINO M16 can handle?

It supports up to 2000W or 1000W depending on wiring configuration (220–240V AC). It’s fully compatible with LED, CFL, and incandescent lighting, and works with fluorescent lighting when paired with a compatible ballast. Motors and fans are not recommended.
