Introducing Sino Pro True Presence Sensor

The Sensinova SINO PRO True Presence Sensor is an intelligent 24GHz radar-based presence sensor that detects both movement and stationary occupants by sensing subtle breathing patterns across 360° range. Unlike conventional motion sensors, it keeps lights on while a person remains seated or working, improving comfort and energy efficiency. Featuring an adjustable 2–8 metre sensing range, IP44 protection, and customizable LUX, sensitivity, and timer settings, it is ideal for residential, commercial, and office lighting automation.

Sensitivity

Adjust the sensor’s detection coverage from 2 m to 8 m diameter using the SENS control. Turn it towards “–” for a smaller, focused detection area and towards “+” for maximum room coverage. Set the sensitivity according to the room size and reduce it if nearby glass, metallic surfaces, curtains, airflow, or movement outside the intended area causes unwanted activation.

Time Setting

Adjust how long the connected light remains ON after the last detected presence or movement, from 10 seconds to 12 minutes. Each new detection restarts the timer. Use the minimum 10-second setting during testing, then select the required switch-off delay for the application.

Light Control (LUX) Setting

Adjust the ambient-light threshold from 3 to 2000 lux. Set the control to SUN for day-and-night operation and for testing during daylight. Turn it towards 3 lux when the sensor should activate only in dark or low-light conditions.

Test Instructions

  • Set LUX to SUN (Maximum).
  • Set SENS to Maximum (+).
  • Set TIME to 10 seconds (Minimum).
  •  Power on — light illuminates immediately for ~10 seconds
  • Within 4m: sensor detects breathing. Light stays on.
  •  Beyond 4m: light turns off after set delay if no movement.
  • For night-only use, turn LUX to position 3 (min).

Ready to Transform Your Space?

Experience True Presence Detection with SINO PRO

SINO PRO is a ceiling-mounted 24 GHz true presence sensor designed for intelligent lighting control in occupied spaces. Unlike ordinary motion sensors, it detects breathing and stays on while you're still, automatically switching lights OFF only when the space is truly vacated.

How It Works

Discover the simple yet effective way NANO 16 transforms your space

1

Microwave Emission

Emits 5.8GHz microwaves with <0.2mW power, ensuring precise detection.

2

Motion Detection

Detects movement (0.6–1.5m/s) within 360° range, adjustable 2–16m.

3

Smart Response

Activates lights (≤800W incandescent / 300W LED) with 10s–12min delay.

A microwave motion sensor works by emitting high-frequency waves and detecting changes in the reflected signal. When motion occurs within the microwave sensor range, the reflection shifts, triggering a response. Unlike passive sensors, microwave sensors actively scan their surroundings, making them ideal for detecting subtle movement, even through walls or glass.

Smart Functionality

Experience intuitive control with Nano W12's advanced features designed for modern living

Daylight Function

In Daylight mode, Nano W12 only turns lights ON when both conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light level is below the set lux threshold. This prevents lights from switching on unnecessarily in naturally bright spaces such as corridors with windows or staircases with skylights

lux setting-Motion Sensor

Sufficient daylight

When there is enough natural light, the sensor keeps the light OFF even if motion is detected.

lux setting night-Motion Sensor

Low daylight with motion

When the ambient light falls below the set level and the sensor detects movement, the light switches ON automatically.

Detection-Motion Sensor

After people leave

Once motion stops, the light remains ON for the selected hold time and then switches OFF automatically.

No Daylight Function

In No Daylight mode, Nano W12 ignores the ambient light level and responds purely to motion. This mode is ideal for consistently dim or enclosed areas such as internal corridors, basement approaches, and underpasses where lights must always come on whenever movement is detected.

motion detection_sensionva

Motion detected

As soon as a person enters the detection zone, the sensor switches the light ON to full brightness.

motion detection_sensionva

Area still occupied

As long as motion continues, the light stays ON, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Detection-Motion Sensor

No motion detected

After the last detection and expiry of the configured hold time, the light turns OFF automatically

🌓

Knows Sun from Moon

Nano W12 can differentiate between day and night using its built-in light sensing. It automatically adjusts operation based on ambient lux levels, ensuring lights are used only when they’re actually needed

🎚️

Dial-in Distance

Set the detection range to suit the space. Nano W12 allows fine adjustment of sensitivity so that motion is detected only within the desired area, helping avoid false triggers from adjacent zones.

⏱️

Stays On When Busy

Smart re-triggering means the timer resets whenever new motion is detected. Lights remain ON continuously while people are present, providing uninterrupted illumination during peak activity

You Set the Timeout

Choose how long the lights stay ON after the last detection. The adjustable hold time lets you match sensor behaviour to the application, from quick shut-off for short passages to longer delays for high-traffic areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Sino Pro True Presence Sensor

How is SINO PRO different from a regular motion sensor?

Unlike PIR (passive infrared) motion sensors that only detect movement, SINO PRO uses 24 GHz microwave radar to detect true presence, including tiny chest movements from breathing. This means the lights stay on even when you’re sitting still at a desk or standing in one spot, not just when you’re moving around.

Where should I install SINO PRO for best performance?

For optimal coverage, mount it centrally on the ceiling at a height of 2–4m (3m is ideal), facing open areas rather than walls. Avoid installing near mirrors, glass, metallic surfaces, HVAC vents, radiators, or open windows, as these can interfere with detection or cause false triggers.

Can I use SINO PRO outdoors?

SINO PRO has an IP44 rating, which means it’s suitable for covered or sheltered outdoor locations like porches and garages, but it’s not designed for direct rain exposure.

Why doesn't the sensor respond right after installation?

This is normal. After power-up, SINO PRO enters a 30-second calibration mode during which it won’t trigger. Once calibration is complete, it will begin detecting presence as expected.

What if the light won't switch off, or sensitivity seems off?

If lights won’t turn off, check for continuous signals in the detection range and confirm the TIME delay isn’t set to maximum. For sensitivity issues, check ambient temperature, the position of nearby signal sources, and installation height — these can all affect detection accuracy.
