The light can be set to stay ON for any period of time between approx. IOsec(turn fully anticlockwise) and a maximum of 12min(turn fully clockwise). Any movement detected before this time elapse will re-start the timer. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and for performing the walk test.
The chosen light response threshold can be adjusted from <3-2000 Lux. Turn it fully anti-clockwise to select dusk-to-dawn operation at about'-- 2 Lux. Turn it fully clockwise to select continuous daylight operation. The knob must be turned fully clockwise when adjusting the detection zone and performing the walk test in daylight, then adjust setting according to site requirement.

In Daylight mode, IRIS W15 only turns the lights ON when two conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light is below the selected lux threshold (adjustable from <3 to about 2000 lux). This means entrance, garden or driveway lights won’t switch on in bright daytime conditions, even if there is movement
When the outdoor area is already bright, the sensor keeps the light OFF even if someone walks through the detection zone, preventing unnecessary energy use.
When dusk falls or the area becomes dark and IRIS W15 detects movement, it switches the connected light ON automatically for safe, comfortable visibility.
Once motion stops, the light remains ON for the chosen hold time (from around 10 seconds to 15 minutes) and then turns OFF automatically
In No Daylight mode, IRIS W15 ignores the ambient light level and responds purely to movement. This mode is ideal for locations where the light should always react to presence—such as covered parking areas, shaded passages or building corners that stay relatively dark
As soon as a person or vehicle enters the 180° detection field within the 12 m range, the PIR sensor responds to body heat or moving objects and switches the light ON.
