The Sensinova SINO M16 Microwave Sensor is a high-performance 5.8GHz radar-based motion detector designed for intelligent lighting control in residential, commercial and industrial spaces. With 360° detection, an adjustable sensing range of up to 16 metres, IP44 protection, and support for loads up to 2000W, it delivers reliable occupancy detection even through glass, wooden doors and thin partition walls. Adjust the sensor’s detection coverage from 4 m to 16 m diameter using the SENS control. Turn it towards Low / “–” for a smaller detection area and towards High / “+” for maximum coverage. Set the sensitivity according to the room size and reduce it if movement behind glass, doors, or thin partitions causes unwanted activation.
Adjust how long the connected light remains ON after the last detected movement, from 10 seconds to 12 minutes. Each new motion detection restarts the timer. Use the shortest delay during testing, then select the required switch-off time for the application.
Adjust the ambient-light threshold from 3 to 2000 lux. Set the control to SUN for operation during both day and night and for testing in daylight. Turn it towards 3 lux when the sensor should activate only in dark or low-light conditions.
1. Set LUX to SUN (max), SENS to + (max), TIME to 10s (min).
2. Power on — light illuminates immediately for ~10 seconds.
3. Within 8m: sensor detects motion. Light stays on.
4. Beyond 8m: light turns off after set delay.
5. For night-only use, turn LUX to position 3 (min).

In Daylight mode, Nano HB20 only brings lights to full or dimmed output when two conditions are met: motion is detected and the ambient light level is below the set lux threshold. This prevents high-bay fixtures from running unnecessarily during bright daytime conditions in open warehouses, canopies or yards.
When natural light is above the selected lux level, the sensor keeps the lights OFF or in stand-by dim mode even if motion is detected, reducing daytime consumption.
When the ambient light drops below the set threshold and Nano HB20 detects movement, the connected lights switch to 100% brightness automatically for safe operation.
Once motion stops, the lights remain ON for the selected hold time and then step down to dimmed stand-by or turn OFF completely, depending on your configuration
In No Daylight mode, Nano HB20 ignores ambient lux and responds purely to motion. This is ideal for enclosed or always-dim areas such as covered loading bays, indoor factories, and night-time yards where lights must switch on whenever movement occurs, regardless of existing light levels
As soon as a person, forklift or vehicle enters the detection zone, the sensor drives the lights to full output for maximum visibility.
While motion continues within the coverage area, the lights stay ON or at your chosen bright level, ensuring a safe environment for ongoing work.

It also covers up to 16m in diameter, roughly 4× the floor area of a typical PIR sensor, making it ideal for large halls and open corridors.
Mount it centrally on the ceiling at a height of 2–4m (3m is ideal), facing open room areas rather than walls. Avoid pointing it at mirrors or metallic surfaces, and keep it away from HVAC vents, radiators, or open windows, as draughts or foliage in these positions can trigger false detection.
Yes. Its 5.8 GHz signal penetrates glass, thin walls, and doors, so it may detect motion in adjacent spaces. If this causes unwanted triggering, adjusting the sensitivity (SENS) knob or repositioning the sensor can help match detection to your actual room area.
The SENS knob adjusts detection sensitivity from 4m to 16m diameter — turn toward Low for smaller areas or High for larger spaces. The TIME knob sets the light-off delay after last motion, from 10 seconds up to 12 minutes, automatically resetting whenever new motion is detected.
It supports up to 2000W or 1000W depending on wiring configuration (220–240V AC). It’s fully compatible with LED, CFL, and incandescent lighting, and works with fluorescent lighting when paired with a compatible ballast. Motors and fans are not recommended.
